What People Say About Jochipapanete

“I found that my stay at the Jochipapanete Center was more than a retreat. It was a place where the community brought you into their home. The methods and way the ceremony was held was such an authentic experience and had not been westernised at all- something that is valuable and unfortunately rare in today’s world. The healing was an intense and powerful journey, one that I am still integrating and benefiting from 2 months plus later. I will definitely be returning, as the community there has a unique and beautiful way of making you feel part of the family- in which we all are.”

What an incredible place! I feel so lucky to have had my first Ayahuasca ceremony at Jochipapanete, I felt safe and looked after the entire time. The Shipibo family that run the centre are so generous and loving and definitely go above and beyond to make sure you feel comfortable and safe throughout the whole experience. As it was my first time taking the medicine, there was naturally some nerves going into it, however I couldn’t imagine feeling more held than I did and comfortable to express anything.

This retreat center is surrounded by jungle with nature right at your doorstep, making this place extra magical. Throughout the retreat we went on nature walks to see ancient trees, a day trip to see the incredible guacamaya birds as well as remote waterfalls and hot springs. I highly recommend visiting this place if it’s for a retreat or dieta, I was so sad to leave and will 100% be returning when I go back to Peru. If you want an authentic, loving and safe experience this place is for you!!

"Over the past ten years I have had the opportunity to work with Maestro Deodomero and Maestra Rosenda at several other centers and have always been amazed at their work. On this occasion, I had the good fortune to experience the medicine at the Jochipapanette Center Deo and his family have built in the jungle outside Contanama. My time here has been a wonderful blessing. From the moment I arrived I was treated like family. Its hard to put into words the kindness and compassion I experienced here. Unlike past retreats, we were provided with time and space to talk with the Maestro after ceremonies, to ask and answer questions that have come up, and to allow for a deeper exploration with the medicine to continue. We were also treated to hikes deep into the jungle to the Jochipapanette tree and to the healing waters of Aguas Calientes. I could not have asked for a better experience. I depart feeling happy and healthy again and can't wait for the day I'll be able to return. If you feel called by Ayahuasca, trust that this is the place to do so. "
