La Selva
Our centre is located deep in the Peruvian Amazon, surrounded by lush jungle that is alive with sound, birdsong, the rustling of leaves, and the hum of unseen life. The jungle is both wild and nurturing, offering a space for reflection, healing, and connection with nature. Every day here is shaped by the rhythms of the forest, the rising sun, the tropical rains, and the vast starry skies.
You are far from everything here, from noise, distractions, and it is a place to deeply immerse yourself and be held by nature. This is a healing experience as much as the medicine is.
We have many incredible and sacred sites in close proximity to our centre.
While we ensure that our guests are able to have an immersive experience in the jungle, we cannot visit all of these sites in every retreat. Retreats and dieta excursions are scheduled according to the time of the year and physical capability of participants.
Aguas Calientes
Close to our centre is Aguas Calientes, a natural hot spring where many visitors go to rest and restore. Bathing in these therapeutic, warm, mineral-rich waters is deeply grounding and helps to soothe the body. It is a cherished place of relaxation and renewal.
The Jochipapanete Tree
Our centre is named after the Jochipapanete tree, a majestic presence in the forest. This tree holds spiritual and medicinal importance for the local people and symbolizes strength, resilience, and healing. It stands as a guardian of our centre and a reminder of the wisdom rooted in the natural world.
Guacamayos
Throughout the forest, you may see and hear guacamayos (macaws) — their vibrant feathers flashing across the sky in pairs or flocks. These colourful birds are symbols of joy and freedom, and their presence adds to the sense of wonder that fills the jungle.
Llanto de la Anaconda Waterfall
A longer hike away is the stunning Llanto de la Anaconda (Tears of the Anaconda) waterfall. Its waters cascade through the forest, carrying with them a sense of cleansing and renewal. The name reflects the deep mythologies of the Amazon, where the anaconda is a powerful spiritual being. Visiting this waterfall is a chance to experience the beauty, strength, and mystery of the land.
Ucayali River
In certain times of the year only due to the water level, as part of the retreat experience, we offer boat excursions on the Ucayali River, one of the main waterways of the Amazon. Traveling by boat, you will witness the incredible life of the river from local communities along the banks to the vast stretches of jungle that seem to go on forever.
